• In 1983 – Regional third-party drainage and building inspector for 7 municipalities in Central Texas

 

• In 1987, Scott founded Scott Lockhart Austin Drainage Specialists, Austin’s original stormwater management and drainage contracting firm. What began as a bold venture into an emerging field has grown into one of Central Texas’ most respected companies, with over 8,000 completed projects across residential, commercial, and municipal sectors. ​

 

• From 1988–1990 – Consultant to the family of President Lyndon B. Johnson, developing and promoting national stormwater systems for PROSEED Inc., later adopted by U.S. Departments of Transportation

• ​1996 – Founded Rain Harvest LLC, Texas’ first rainwater collection design/build firm, setting the standard for drought-resilient water systems

• 1998 – Founded Sustainable Homesteads LLC, specializing in off-grid building, permaculture design, and regenerative land development throughout Central Texas​

 

Today, Scott remains one of the region’s most experienced drainage contractors and stormwater consultants.
